Weekend Rewind

Ahhhh I have a few quiet minutes while Lily and Tucker nap and Marc is at band practice. We had a wild weekend in the Pensyl house and I thought I'd take a minute to share!

Friday was my birthday and even though we had to work I was at Harvest Fields working on HSM "stuff". You know it's bad when your second job is your stress relief from your first one. Mom and Dad came over for dinner and Marc made "Girl Scout Mozzarella Things" - it's a Powers family classic. I love them. I could eat millions of them in one sitting. It's too hard to explain them, but just know they're good. Come over and request them for dinner sometime if you're interested.
I opened my cards from Marc, Lily, and Tucker

Then I opened my present and it was bags and BAGS AND BAGS of trail mix!!
I've been on a trail mix kick for several months now and Marc knew just what to get me to make me smile! Afterward we all headed to Myers Dairy for ice cream! Woohoo! Goooo Mint Flake! Then we stopped by a carnival and were going to ride a few rides and play some games, but the Boy Scouts are running a major scam. I mean dang I thought their popcorn was expensive, but the prices at this carnival were out of control.

On Saturday I bought myself some tank tops for $5 AND saved 10%. Just call me Dealfinder Pensyl. Then there was this whole bird incident, but as I just told Maryn the story over Skype I realized it doesn't have a happy ending so it's not worth typing. A bird was hurt, we tried to save it, it died. I hope we fare better when tending to our future children. Then I headed to "help" the girls get ready for the Junior Prom. I put help in quotes because I actually did nothing but eat food and spray some hair spray so I feel like I really can't take credit. They look b-e-a-u-tiful! What babes. I just know the guys were drooling (could be due to the amount of hair spray, but we'll assume it's because of the way they looked).

Sunday was Mother's Day and after church we took Mom to Texas Roadhouse (this is apparently her favorite restaurant, I just discovered this about two weeks ago). We bought her a hanging basket full of different types of flowers and gave hugs and kisses too!

End scene. That was it - crazy and busy, but that's how we roll here :) Now I think I'll head upstairs to enjoy some of that trail mix....
